Sushi shops are a dime a dozen in the city, and there's one in most shopping centres these days. The large nori rolls have become a popular lunch alternative and even some sandwich shops stock them.
Many of these shops are supplied centrally, and therefore the offering is pretty standard across the range. Sushi Sushi appear to make their own on premises, an advantage since they are part of a chain.
Two charming young ladies behind the counter provide cheerful service, and the range of pre-packed boxes include old favourites and some different things.
I chose a vegetarian selection. The california roll had spinach and japanese omelette (which if it's made correctly isn't strictly vegetarian...). This was accompanied by the cutest little stuffed beancurd parcels - filled with rice at the bottom they were topped with gorgeously crunch and improbably green seaweed sprinkled with sesame seeds.
The shop is located in Melbourne Central, the lonsdale - little lonsdale section and unfortunately is very close to a very "doof-y" shop. In fact, it might be sanity, which is right round the other side, but all the accoustics are strange as a result of the renovation work being undertaken.
Noise pollution aside - there are chairs and tables provided, and it's quite pleasant to sit there.
